Day 6 in the Studio
Worked on lead vocals for the first time today. Some days are just easier than others. This was one of those days. Worked on Living With You, It’s Just Crazy, I Do and My Hurricane. It’s kindof like playing sports- sometimes you can get in the zone and other times you just struggle. Today was a good day.

Day 5: Studio 2011
Day 5: Studio 2011 – Robert Sledge on the upright bass. Serious class on this song! (Except for the way he’s wearing his headphones). The band recorded Living With You on Day 5. I decided on the upright at the last minute instead of the electric bass, and Robert nailed the part. FIrst week of tracking down!! I did not want it to end, but there will be tons more to come.

Day 4: Studio 2011
Jim Crew was busy today tracking grand piano for Just An Image and Extra Mile. Then he got funky on the clavinet for Everybody Hurts. Finished all the main instruments for these three tracks today.

Day 3: Studio 2011
Rob Ladd focusing on It’s Just Crazy… On day 3 we finished drums, bass and some electric guitar for It’s Just Crazy, I Do and Words Unspoken. Jim Crew joined us today and added some serious funk into the mix with the Clavinet!

Day 2: Studio 2011
We tracked three more songs on Day 2 – My Hurricane, Shut My Mouth and When. I’m just doing scratch vocals now and recorded in the same room with the guys behind a barrier. Incredible team for this CD: Rob Ladd on drums, Robert Sledge on bass, Mike Garrigan on electric guitar and Jim Crew on piano/keys.
